SF State Transforms: Advancing Faculty Equity, 2021-2022

Directed all administrative and operational aspects of a complex, grant-funded initiative to increase equity in faculty workload distribution. Managed budgeting and resource allocation to align with programmatic priorities. Developed and implemented evaluation frameworks in partnership with internal and external evaluators, leveraging data to drive improvements. Supervised graduate research assistants, coordinated events, and prepared detailed, outcome-based reports for stakeholders and funding agencies.

Department of Sociology, 2009-2012

Led resource planning, operational oversight, and policy compliance for undergraduate and graduate sociology programs. Managed budgets, oversaw curriculum development, and facilitated strategic enrollment management and student success initiatives. Supervised a diverse team of professional staff, graduate assistants, and undergraduate workers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. Streamlined academic operations by interpreting and applying complex policies, ensuring efficient delivery of programs and services.

Academic Advising Office, 2007-2009

Collaborated with the Associate Provost and Registrar to align course offerings and curriculum structures with institutional goals. Oversaw the daily operations of the advising office, including staff supervision and training. Managed student orientation and registration processes, ensuring operational efficiencies and consistent application of academic policies. Regularly communicated best practices and policy updates to faculty and staff, enhancing service delivery and student support.

Academic Advising Office, 2005-2007

Facilitated orientation and registration for incoming transfer students. Created individualized academic plans for students and advised them through their initial coursework until they transitioned to faculty advisors. Built partnerships with local community colleges to support transfer students and streamline the admissions process. Developed articulation agreements to facilitate credit transfers and academic transitions.

University Diversity Center, 2004- 2005

Coordinated programs and events to promote equity and cultural awareness on campus. Recruited, trained, and supervised student Diversity Advocates to support peer education and foster an inclusive campus climate. Managed partnerships with student organizations and external groups to strengthen community engagement. Provided leadership and mentorship to underrepresented students, supporting retention and success initiatives.

Served as the advisor for Washington Achievers Scholars, a cohort of low-income students, the majority of whom were students of color, foster youth, and first-generation college students. Provided academic and personal advising to support their retention and success in higher education. Organized cultural programming and workshops to foster a sense of belonging and engagement. Collaborated with campus partners to address barriers impacting student success and promote an inclusive campus climate.
